You're wise to be afraid of scales. You can cut your fingers on them if not careful, and besides, the fish smell pretty nasty. Oh, you mean ...

Great job with the lifestyle change. It really is an inspiration to see you going after it like you have. Who knows, maybe others will follow.

Leslie, glad to see you working on through stubborn scale numbers. Those scales are great, but they don't seem to tell the whole story. Those loose-fitting clothes and the changes in your body, mind and spirit mean a lot. A friend of mine was working hard to drop a lot of weight, and he was hung up on the scales "not moving," in spite of the new clothes he had to buy due to smaller pant/waist size and so on. He wasn't taking into account body fat % changing and some extra muscle he put on, offsetting some of the body fat he shed. There are lots of factors that feed into the equation, the main thing is, you're doing the right thing, exercising and eating better, feeling better, and so on. Like you said, enjoy the journey itself!! The rest will follow...

Keep up the great work, and great new lifestyle!

Leslie,
 What great progress!

And _your_ reaction to
the news that you have
now lost 21 pounds
is just wonderful.

 It will be a while
before you fully
realize just how
many others of us
out here are being
motivated by your
story.

Leslie, I'm so proud of you! And I'm glad you didn't let the plateau slow you down. You knew you were doing things right. Sometimes the scales just refuse to budge. That's when you have to take notice of other "scales" ... like your clothes fitting looser.

And thanks for the recipe for the bran muffins. If I can find the Miller's Bran at Kroger, I'll be making them this weekend.
